All programs offered by Precision Academics are led by Bill Dudas, a 10-year veteran teach in CT. If you've met Bill, you know how approachable he is and how much the children love him. His goal is to help your child succeed in ways you never thought imaginable. His accolades including a Master’s Degree in elementary education and a 6th year degree and certification in Administration. Along with teaching, he has been an instructional coach in his school district for over three years, assisting other teachers in their professional development.
Precision Academics has a three pronged approach to serving our community, and of which you can utilize independently or package together.
Tutoring sessions which focus on the student's area of need. Each session is an intensive 60 minutes of one-on-one help with a professional certified educator.
Discovery Labs are for children grades K-8. These 3 hour sessions include differentiated learning by age and focus on higher level learning. It involves challenge and inquiry based activities in Math and/or Science. For example, how many jelly beans are in that jar? Kids can use their creativity and learn estimation skills to figure out how many items are in the jar they are holding. Or they'll spend a "day at the amusement park" while learning how to budget their money wisely. And who doesn't love bubbles! They won't even realize that they are learning the difference between tetrahedrons and polyhedrons while dipping the shapes they make into bubbles! Who knew math or science could be so fun! Problem solving skills are developed and lessons are challenging.
Tracy’s 9yo son has already attended two Discovery Labs and he's *loved* them.
Parent Workshops are interactive workshops that focus on motivating your child through effective work and social strategies to achieve success. Topics include: study habits, routines, schedules, prioritizing activities, motivation, rewards, evaluating performance, making adjustments, discipline, and managing child issues.
