FROM HOPE TO JOY

A Memoir of a Mother’s Determination & Her Micro Preemie’s Struggle to Beat the Odds

By By Jennifer Degl August 6, 2013

On the night her daughter was born—seventeen weeks early—Jennifer Degl started a journal on a sheet of paper given to her by a nurse. Once she was discharged from the hospital, a little blue notebook became Jennifer’s constant companion. Five months after the birth of her daughter, Jennifer went to write in her notebook; instead, she sat down and read her journal cover to cover. That’s when she knew she had to tell this story.

In her gripping memoir, Jennifer Degl brings her readers on an emotional roller coaster: from the decision to get pregnant despite warnings from her doctors—and nearly dying four times during her pregnancy—to the birth of her daughter, Joy, at twenty-three weeks, and this tiny baby’s fight to survive.

The Degl family's experience represents a potent dose of reality—the type that defines the human experience. A must read for both those contemplating and raising a family," says Dr. Marc Childs of Mount Kisco Medical Group Pediatrics.

“This book is compelling. Don't be surprised if you find yourself getting lost in the story. Jen’s determination to bring her daughter, Joy, into this world was remarkable,” comments Tom Furci of 100.7 WHUD.

A remarkable story, From Hope to Joy is filled with love, determination, strength, hope—and finally Joy. It will be available on Amazon.com as of Thursday August 8, 2013.  Click HERE to purchase your copy right now!
