EVENT: Pumpkin Patch Train Ride at Danbury Railway

October 21, 2014

The Danbury Railway Museum has captured the heart of this Editor's family ever since we took our first vintage train ride a few years ago. Since then, we make sure to visit the museum for their kid-centered, seasonal events. We've also found it to be a really fun place to visit at any time of year. There are so many hidden treasures to explore - each time we visit we learn something new. The museum is set in a restored 1903 station and run by a very friendly staff who are extremely knowledgeable about trains and the history of Danbury. Adults and kids can explore the indoor exhibits, operating layouts and play area as well as walk inside real, vintage trains that are parked in the railyard (my older daughter's favorite thing to do!).

On select weekends this October, the museum will be offering rides on a vintage train to a pumpkin patch! Admission includes the train ride through the railyard, a pumpkin for every child, cider and cookies, the ability to explore the restored 1903 station and railyard with real trains, indoor exhibits, operating layouts and displays, coloring station, temporary tattoos, and more. Costumes are encouraged! Oh, and don't forget to bring your camera as there will be plenty of photo opportunities.
