Guide: Library Guide

October 21, 2014

Gone are the days when every town had a library perfect for its community.  Now due to funding issues, our libraries are dwindling in numbers.  We still have some fantastic ones within our communities, however, and they have great, free programs for your families.

Below is a list of towns within Putnam and Dutchess with corresponding libraries links.  Each link includes address, phone numbers, websites, and "peek throughs" of the library event calendars, when possible. Every library has their own set of child, teen and adult programs.  We list the child and teen programs on our calendars for the covered regions, and you can look into the adult programs directly.

Obviously please call the library prior to departure to ask if the program is still running that day and time, to enroll your child as necessary, and to ask any questions.  All libraries listed have indicated programs are available to anyone, but priority may be given to town residents first.  With one extremely rare exception, we've found all the libraries very welcoming to our readers and hope you enjoy the wonderful programs they bring to our community
