This Week's Welcome

May 19, 2015

Hello all!

This weekend was another busy one for us.  Sean had his year-end celebration with Cub-Scouts and was promoted to the next rank.  We look forward to starting with the St. James Cub Scouts again next fall.  Any boys are welcome to join; just send me an email and I'll put you in touch with them.

Sean and Shane both had their guitar recitals on Sunday.  They did fantastic.  We are very proud at how far they've both come.  Shane played "Gumballs" (G note 4 times) and "Geckos Dancing" (G note 16 times) accompanied by his instructor (and me whispering in his ear).  Sean played Hot Cross Buns and an outstanding variation of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (each note is played 5 times before moving onto the next note).

I quite literally raced home, my husband packed up my van, and I zipped over to Carmel Nursery School for the #MKSummer Fun Party.  I am so lucky to have such great, friendly readers attend the party, with their exceptionally well-behaved (and adorable) children.  If you missed the party, there are still ways to win some prizes from our sponsors.  Click HERE for steps on how.

I'd like to send out special thank you to Carmel Nursery School for hosting the posting.  As many of you've heard me say, I sent my 2nd child there for the 2s program.  Every time I picked him up, I kicked myself for not sending my 1st one there.  They only have a few spots left for their 2s program next Fall (we already registered Siobhan), so be sure to sign up if you're interested.

I'd also like to thank One Pickled Pepper for their delicious potato salad and especially for the amazing Mac and Cheese.  And finally, a big thank you to Rachelle at Shutterbug.  You can see some of her amazing photos from the party HERE.

Enjoy your week in Putnam County!

Small Print: We do our best to have up-do-date and accurate information.  However, we highly recommend you contact the venue prior to departure to ensure the event is happening as originally scheduled.  In addition, follow us on Facebook for last-minute information.

Note: EVERY library is open to ANYone, not just the town residents.  Only one or two libraries give residents first shot before opening to everyone else.  If any of the library programs requiring registration are full, be sure to utilize their waiting list.  Openings pop up frequently, so enjoy those great programs with your children when you can!
