I absolutely LOVE fireworks. The sights and sounds completely pull me in. Choreographing fireworks to music takes them to a whole other level and there's nothing better than enjoying them with family and friends casually over snacks and cool beverages. Just do NOT forget the bug spray!
Unfortunately, some of the usual firework displays in the area have been cancelled due to the pandemic. However, here's a list of what IS available this year broken out by date.
- Saturday, June 26th- The Kent Fire Department will hold its annual fireworks show at Lake Carmel in Putnam after sunset June 26. Raindate is July 10.
- Thursday, July 1st-
- Clarkstown in Rockland is having their Independence celebration - including fireworks - at Nanuet High School. The event starts at 6p.
- Rye Playland Park's fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m. There will be fireworks displays on Thursday, July 1, Saturday, July 3, and Sunday, July 4.
- Saturday, July 3rd-
- Valhalla: Fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m. at the Kensico Dam Plaza. Prior to the fireworks, the Kensico Dam Music Fest will begin at 6 p.m. and the Gerard Carelli Orchestra will perform at 8 p.m.
- The Hudson Valley Renegades is hosting an evening of fireworks along with a movie at 6:30pat Dutchess Stadium. The scheduled movie is "National Treasure."
- The New York Boulders in Rockland County will hold their traditional fireworks celebration July 3 and 4 after the Boulders take on the Washington Wild Things at 6:30p and 6p respectively. They're offering a fun deal they're calling the Firecracker Pack which includes game tickets, food or drink mini golf plus tickets for an additional home game. Find out more here.
- Sunday, July 4th-
- The village of Nyack in Rockland brings back its annual Firework Show at 9p in Memorial Park.
- The Fireworks Display in Harbor Island Park will begin after sunset around 9:15p. Rain date is Mon, July 5.
- Port Chester: Come to Port Chester High School at 9p. Rain Date is July 5.
- Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown: The fireworks will begin at dusk and can be seen from any of Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown's parks. Parking is limited.
- Yonkers: A fireworks display along the waterfront will begin between 9 and 9:15 p.m.
- Saturday, July 17th- The 2021 Freedom Fest Fireworks in Montgomery will be held in Thomas Bull Memorial Park. Gates open at 4p and fireworks begin at dusk. There will be live music and a variety of food trucks.
