Three Events in Putnam: ACS + Relay For Life is BACK ON TRACK this June
Honor and remember loved ones and take action for lifesaving change
With only a few short weeks, Putnam readies for three separate 2022 Relay For Life events! Are you ready to Relay with us and make an impact in the fight against cancer?
Join us as we come together to celebrate cancer survivors and thrivers, remember loved ones lost and fight back as a community! The funds raised through Relay For Life fund breakthrough research, education, advocacy and support for all those affected by cancer, including right here in the Brewster, Mahopac and Patterson communities. Events include:
- Brewster-Saturday, June 4 at the Brewster High School track from 3 PM to 10 PM
- Mahopac- Saturday, June 4 at the Mahopac High School track from 11 AM to 11 PM
- Patterson- Saturday, June 11 at the Patterson Fire Department from 3 PM to 10 PM
Kate Corsitto, your American Cancer Society Staff Partner for your 2022 Relay For Life of Mahopac shared her personal connection to cancer and reason to Relay, “I Relay in memory of my dad and my aunt who lost their battles to cancer. I Relay in honor of my dear friend who is currently battling metastatic breast cancer. I FIGHT BACK each year as a staff partner and as a local fellow Relayer so that one day (I hope in my lifetime) we hear the words, "All cancers are cured!". I Relay with HOPE!”
This year’s event welcomes you back to the track and back in person! We have days packed with activities for the whole family including local entertainers, Zumba, food and sweet treats, magic shows and more.
If you or someone you know is a cancer survivor, please join us for complimentary Survivor receptions at your local event. Then stick around for our Luminaria Ceremonies that happen when the sun has set. This is a time when we illuminate our tracks with luminaria bags in honor, memory and support of all our loved ones touched by cancer. It is truly a magical experience to walk the track together during this ceremony!
